— Technical drawing of custom-made furniture
— Management of the bidding process
— Conceptualization of the two spaces and choice of materials
For the Saint-Denis project, our mandate was to develop a concept for the kitchen and bathroom based on pre-existing architectural plans. As this is a rental unit, the deadlines were quite tight in order to quickly rent the apartment. Also, because the unit is on the second floor of a building, we couldn't significantly alter the plumbing connections or remove any load-bearing walls, as this would have affected the apartments above and below.
As you can see from the technical plans below, we envisioned an open-plan kitchen space connected to the dining room, focusing primarily on materials and space optimization to create a truly unique kitchen. Naturally, by working with the column and load-bearing wall at the very center of this space, we planned an island around it, which would maximize the available preparation area while also housing the sink and dishwasher.
We also designed a custom breakfast nook to provide more closed storage for small appliances and other kitchen items. This nook is both practical and aesthetically pleasing, as it frees up counter space for food preparation and visually conceals appliances we don't want to see every day, but which we constantly need.

We presented the clients with one concept for the kitchen and another for the bathroom. Fortunately, we had complete freedom in choosing the fixtures and fittings, as long as the budget was respected. Our goal was to create an ergonomic and bright kitchen. Therefore, we suggested lighter-colored cabinets and floor tiles, and dared to use a slightly more colorful tile to add dimension to the space and a more visually appealing aspect.
As you can see from the kitchen concept board, we were leaning more towards earthy colors and classic finishes. The use of wood, textured green tile, and brass and black finishes for the hardware and faucets allowed us to achieve the desired effect.

For the bathroom, we wanted to maintain the same sense of light and airiness since there are no windows in that space. Therefore, we opted for predominantly white finishes. We added a warmer touch with a wooden vanity and a traditional/retro feel with the ceramic floor tiles, which complement the exterior of the building and its character. The arched mirror, gold faucets, shelves, and various decorative elements helped give the space a more contemporary look, making it more up-to-date.

Despite some modifications made along the way depending on the availability of certain materials within our timeframe, we are very satisfied with the result for both the kitchen and the bathroom. For a first project, where we couldn't relocate the plumbing, electrical wiring, or other existing infrastructure, we are very proud of the finished product of this beautiful rental property. The apartment is already rented, and it's impossible for us to return at the moment, so here are a few pictures documenting the project.
